Batch Winery

The Heke

Adjacent to The Heke restaurant, the Barrel Hall overlooks the onsite brewery and distillery and is surrounded by ageing whisky barrels, creating a unique, warm and atmospheric event space with exclusive use for your group.

Conservation & Tree Planting Experience
Leave a lasting legacy from your Waiheke experience by incorporating a native tree planting activity into your programme.
At the eastern end of Waiheke Island lies the beautiful Te Matuku Marine Reserve, where former farmland is being transformed through large-scale native reforestation. Guided by a respected local ecologist, your group will help plant eco-sourced native trees in an area where kiwi have recently been reintroduced, helping restore vital habitat for one of New Zealand’s most treasured native species.
Each planting experience includes: Return transport, site preparation, expert guidance, three eco-sourced native trees per participant, stakes and tree protectors, plus ongoing care and maintenance to help ensure successful growth and the forest thrives well into the future. Your trees will also be tagged with your group’s details, creating a lasting connection to the island and the opportunity to return in future years to see your contribution growing.
