EcoZip Update – April 2022

New Zealand is currently in the red settings of the COVID-19 Protection Framework.  While there are some restrictions on gathering sizes, this doesn’t affect EcoZip and our operations – we’re open and fully operational.  There are some rules which we’re required to follow but, essentially, it’s still ‘business as usual’, or at least COVID-19 usual!

COVID-19 Vaccination Passes

From midnight on 4th April, the requirement for businesses like ours to sight vaccine passes ended.  Consequently you’ll no longer be asked to present your vaccine pass when you visit EcoZip Adventures.

For further information on alert levels, the Covid-19 Protection Framework or COVID-19 Vaccination Passes, please visit www.covid19.govt.nz

Masks & Other Processes

For the safety and well-being of our customers and suppliers our whole team have been double vaccinated and boosted.  With nearly 2-year’s experience of COVID-19 we’ve developed a robust, and tried and tested, set of operating procedures to keep our clients, and our staff, safe.   This includes enhanced cleaning protocols, effective contact tracing and, from time-to-time, mask use.  We’re committed to making your visit to EcoZip Adventures both highly enjoyable and very safe.

Under the CPF Red settings, masks are used for some parts of our tour, specifically:

  • We ask that you wear a mask when travelling in our vehicles and when inside one of our buildings; for example at check-in or when in our retail space
  • Mask use is optional on the zipline and bush walk element of our tour.  Mask use is also optional, once outdoors, for our staff, so you may see some wearing masks and others who are not.

COVID-19 Refunds and Cancellations

Our policy around refunds and cancellations caused by local, regional or national lockdowns is very straightforward.  In the event that you cannot zip due to a lockdown you’ll be offered

  1. A rebook to an alternative date, or
  2. A full refund

There’s no ‘small print’ and no ambiguity about the refund clause. If we can’t operate due to a lockdown and you don’t want to reschedule to another date we’ll refund in full; no if’s or but’s.  So you can book with confidence.

Over the past two years we’ve all become pretty used to the ‘old’ level 1-4 system, and then the new CPF traffic light system. As rules and guidelines change because of omicron, we’re working closely with our trade associations, WorkSafe and others to ensure we’re following best practice.  Things are going to remain dynamic for a while, as Government introduce new processes and regulations, possibly at short notice.  If there’s anything about our COVID-19 planning you’d like to discuss please get in touch. We take our obligations very seriously and we’re proud to be a small part of the team of five-million who, together, have worked to make New Zealand safer.

We look forward to welcoming you to beautiful Waiheke Island very soon.

  • We had the best time ever! The instructors were very friendly and made sure that we were all safe. The zip lines all had spectacular views. Overall it was amazing!!

    Grace E Paihia, NZ

  • This was a terrific experience, I screamed all the way down all three zip lines. Would definitely recommend it. Brilliant, thank you.

    K Gibbons Manly, Australia

  • We had not been on a zip wire before this trip. EcoZip staff were very welcoming and very professional. We were well prepared for the zip wires and our guides did a great job making sure we were all set before each run. The walk back to the centre with some information about the local flora and fauna was a great addition. We would thoroughly recommend EcoZip.

    David Clarke Tutukaka, NZ

  • Great staff, fun, also enjoyed the short bush walk back up the hill afterwards. Good emphasis on safety.

    whattosay Wanaka, NZ

  • Wow, that's an amazing day full of discovery and incredible native bush. Loved the zipline! You guys rock.

Loads of interest from Richie on our conservation work. Which Tim was happy to talk about
Bit of a special visitor recently; bearing an award; our Qualmark 100% Pure New Zealand trophy.
We’re back from Friday 3rd December - and we’re double vaxxed! We’re looking forward to welcoming you back to our little slice of island paradise
And another award, on top of the earlier 100% Pure NZ!
Managed to grab a shot of all but one of the team following a recent day dedicated to helping some local charities. Wonder if we can get one of everyone before the end of 2021!
After a year of closed borders and cancelled business events up and down the country, it was brilliant to host Aussie and Kiwi buyers in town for the Meetings 2021 trade show #meetings2021
So what do you do when you work on an island that’s described as ‘paradise’ and you want to take the whole EcoZip team away for a well deserved break? You head to Rotovegas!
How cool is this! The next generation of ‘tree huggers’ - and a pretty epic birthday party at EcoZip!
We did another photo shoot on Sunday, prepping for new website. Here’s a behind the scenes shot of our brilliant volunteer talent
Our key account manager Jenna has been busy today, working with Auckland Unlimited, Tourism NZ, Fullers 360 and Stonyridge Vineyard, delivering live webinars to travel agents in Korea and Singapore. This might be the first time anyone has worn zipline gear right outside Stonyridge’s restaurant!
