Working together for Kiwi Kids
From day one, we wanted to be a responsible business and with our fundamental and unshakable belief that good things happen to businesses that do-good things, we attribute a lot of our success to the support we give to the communities that we operate in and collectively, the kids of New Zealand who we believe are the heart of a community.
Locally, we work closely with community groups, schools, and charity groups by helping with event sponsorship and running what we call “Locals Day” which allows residents to ‘zip’ at vastly reduced prices, with all the revenue generated being shared amongst charities nominated by the community.
More widely, we work with two very special kid’s charities that help children across the country. The approach to this partnership is twofold, to get kids moving out in the fresh air, and to help them experience something that they may not normally have access to. It’s by no means a stretch to say that the EcoZip team love being involved and working with these very special groups.
The Kiwi Kids Charity
Each year we close our doors for one day in Spring to host over 120 sick, disabled, or disadvantaged Kiwi Kids from various parts of Auckland. Our team get in the spirit by joining the The Kiwi Kids Charity‘s volunteers in donning crazy costumes and sharing their time and enthusiasm with these amazing kids.
The experience is different for every child. Some have never been on a boat, let alone down a zipline, some are just excited to see the costumes or have someone spend one-on-one time with them. No matter what it means to each individual, it’s a day that’s very special. It’s full of laughter, emotion and love and the EcoZip team enjoy just as much as the kids.

Big Buddy
Big Buddy is all about encouraging confidence and resilience in the lives of boys without a father around. To achieve this, they recruit good guys from the community to spend time with boys aged between 7 and 14 years. Everything they do is designed to better the lives of boys whose dads are absent, by giving them a trusted Big Buddy to spend time with and look up to.
EcoZip Adventures donate packages at Charity Auctions which are purchased and transferred into passes for Big Buddies and Little Buddies to come and enjoy an extra special positive experience together. Being able to make a genuine difference in a child’s life is the biggest achievement of all.

Without you, our wonderful visitors, these special days or donations would not be possible. So, when you fly down our ziplines, remember, you’re not just having fun, you’re helping the Tamariki of Aotearoa (children of New Zealand).
