THE EXPERIENCE

Embark on Waiheke’s original, multi-award-winning eco adventure experience that’s only a short 35-minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland. The extensive 3-hour zipline and over native forest flight adventure is centrally located in the heart of Waiheke’s wine country, so you get to see more of Waiheke in one day!

From being welcomed and picked up by our friendly EcoZip shuttle team at the Islands main ferry terminal, your unique, small group experience begins with a fully commentated ‘Waiheke Highlights’ tour that showcases what the Lonely Planet named ‘the playground of the gods’. We’ll show you some of the islands most famous beaches, incredible properties and vineyards, as you travel to Trig Hill, one of the highest points on the island and home to EcoZip HQ. Set against truly jaw-dropping vistas to Auckland City, the islands of the Gulf and beyond, our friendly, highly experienced team will help you to “gear-up” and prepare for your adventure of a lifetime.

Fly high above a working vineyard and lush, ancient forest treetop canopies that are over 700 years old in parts. With dual cables each over 200m long, you’ll be side-by-side with friends and family in an unforgettable shared experience across 3 separate giant lines. With easy-to-use directional control, you choose how you want to fly – hands free, straight or sideways, or switch in-between to take in the views!

From your over forest flight zipline and guided forest experience, you can then choose how to spend the rest of your time on Waiheke. Take the free EcoZip drop off service directly to one of our vineyard, restaurant or shopping drop off locations, or we can connect you to the island shuttle link to explore further afield.

WAIHEKE
TOUR

Jump on board our comfortable, air-conditioned shuttle for a 20-minute fully commentated ‘Waiheke Highlights’ tour of the island Lonely Planet called ‘the playground of the gods’ and NY Times declared a ‘must see’. You’ll see many of the island’s golden beaches, charming olive groves, world-class vineyards and multi-million-dollar properties, all en route to EcoZip HQ.

CENTRAL TO WAIHEKE’S VINEYARD HUB

EcoZip is only 15 minutes from Waiheke’s main ferry terminal and is closely located to many of Waiheke’s iconic vineyards and restaurants. After your eco over forest flight adventure, we offer a free drop off service to Stonyridge, Te Whau, Wild Estate, Tantalus, Postage Stamp Wines, The Heke, Charley Farley’s, Restaurant 372 or Kia Maha. Alternatively, we can drop you directly to the shuttle link service to Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Obsidian, Casita Muro, Allpress Olives and Batch Winery. See more of Waiheke in one day with EcoZip!

OUR GIANT ZIPLINES

  • Vineyard cruise

Our most shallow gradient, the first zipline of the experience is a gentle introduction to ziplining, and delivers the first of the spectacular views. Soar above a working vineyard that
is home to nearly 2,000 vines of Syrah. If you’re zipping alongside a friend, take advantage of our twin cables to
take photos of each other in-flight – with the background of Auckland’s skyline and islands in the background.

  • City View

The tempo increases as you zip higher and faster above a spectacular view of Auckland City. 200m long, you’ll fly through, then above, the ancient forest canopy – designated a site of environmental significance. Relax and enjoy the ride, or ‘do the bomb’ and race your fellow zipliner.

  • Kuri nui

The main event! Your guide will explain the significance of Kuri nui – a Maori word – before you take off from the deck, with awe-inspiring views of vineyards, beaches and the CBD ahead. At 220m and with the steepest gradient of all, you’ll zip along at a speed of over 50km (faster than you can legally drive on Waiheke’s roads!). Once you get to the landing deck, stand on the sheltered terrace and take photos of the rest of your group as they whistle in.

FOREST
WALK

Descending from Kurinui’s landing deck, you’ll exchange your birds-eye treetop forest view for the cool, sun-dappled forest floor – home to geckos and skinks, weta, eels and even glow-worms. The ancient trees are a treasure-trove of stories and legend. Your guides will share Maori myths, and explain how your visit helps EcoZip Adventures preserve and restore, not only this beautiful and important Site of Environmental Significance, but other extensive wetland restoration projects across Waiheke Island.

  • We had not been on a zip wire before this trip. EcoZip staff were very welcoming and very professional.

We were well prepared for the zip wires and our guides did a great job making sure we were all set before each run. The walk back to the centre with some information about the local flora and fauna was a great addition. We would thoroughly recommend EcoZip.
